A quick-release nut that allows discs to be changed on angle grinders without tools. A replacement for the standard nut that requires a spanner, cutting the time needed to swap accessories.
Discs are changed by hand, with no need for a pin spanner. The self-clamping mechanism locks the disc by tightening against the direction of spindle rotation, holding it securely during work.
The M14 thread is the most common spindle standard on angle grinders. The nut fits any machine with this thread, regardless of power rating, manufacturer or the diameter of the discs used (115 mm, 125 mm, 230 mm).
It works with every type of accessory fitted to an M14 spindle: cutting discs, grinding discs, flap discs, diamond discs and wire brushes. No matching to a particular type of accessory is required.
Doing away with hunting for a pin spanner and tightening by hand cuts disc changes down to a few seconds. Particularly useful when accessories are swapped frequently across a range of jobs.

To make sure the nut fits your grinder, remove the original nut and check the thread marking on the spindle. A marking of M14 confirms compatibility. The M14 thread is found on most popular angle grinder models rated from 500 W to 2500 W.
Before first use, clean any dirt and old grease from the spindle thread. Screw the nut on by hand until it is finger-tight, then tighten it with a light turn against the direction of disc rotation. In use, the mechanism tightens itself under torque.
When you have finished, unscrew the nut by hand, turning it in the direction of spindle rotation. If the nut has tightened too much during heavy work, the disc can be braked gently with the grinder running (a method used only by experienced users, with all due precautions).
The nut's thread should be cleaned periodically to remove dust and dirt, and coated with a thin layer of graphite grease. This prevents the thread from seizing and makes removal easier after heavy use. A damaged or worn nut must be replaced – do not use a nut with a damaged thread or locking mechanism.
