The KD2140 is a mains-powered (230V) magnetic drill designed for precision hole drilling in steel components and other metal materials. The electromagnet clamps the machine directly to the workpiece, removing the need for additional clamps or a vice — a key advantage when working on steel structures in situ.
The high power output maintains a constant drill bit speed even when the material offers significant resistance. The 2100W motor allows continuous operation without the machine overheating while drilling a series of holes in thick steel components.
A holding force of 14,000N (approx. 1430 kgf) keeps the drill firmly in place on the steel surface during drilling. A separate electromagnet switch allows the base to be activated before the motor starts — an important safety feature.
The stroke defines how far the spindle can travel vertically in a single turn of the feed handle. At 118mm, it allows through holes to be drilled in components of considerable thickness without repositioning the machine. The total height adjustment of 225mm provides clearance for working with longer drill bits.
The ergonomic three-spoke feed handle applies even pressure to the drill bit and gives precise control of the feed. The keyed drill chuck holds the bit securely on axis, which has a direct effect on the accuracy and repeatability of the holes drilled.

The electromagnet works only on ferromagnetic surfaces (carbon steel, cast iron). It will not adhere to stainless steel, aluminium, copper or non-magnetic materials. The material to which the base is attached should be at least 6–10mm thick — thinner components may not provide sufficient holding force. Before drilling, make sure the surface is clean and free from dirt, paint or rust where the base is applied.
