The 4–14 mm cutting depth range covers standard ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware and thicker tiles. Before buying, check the thickness of the tiles you intend to cut and make sure it falls within this range.
Steel rails and ball bearings
The rails are made from corrosion-resistant steel and guide the cutting carriage. The ball bearings fitted to the carriage reduce friction, which translates into even pressure from the cutting wheel on the tile surface — essential for a straight cut line. The smooth glide also reduces the effort needed to operate the tool over longer periods.
Straight and angled cuts
The tool can be set to an angled cut, which is essential when finishing corners, borders and transitions between surfaces. Built-in measuring guides let you quickly repeat the same measurement for subsequent cuts — important when producing batches of identical pieces, such as border strips.

What to look for when choosing a manual tile cutter
A manual tile cutter works by scoring and snapping — it is not designed for cutting mosaic, glass tiles or materials that need curved cuts. Before buying, check the maximum tile length (it must not exceed 1000 mm), the tile thickness (it must fall within the 4–14 mm range) and the hardness of the material — technical porcelain rated R11 and above may need greater pressure when snapping.
Use and maintenance
After each working session, clean ceramic dust from the rails and cutting carriage — particles of material building up on the rails accelerate wear on the bearings and the cutting wheel. The rails can be wiped with a lightly oiled cloth, which reduces friction and protects the steel from corrosion in damp conditions (on site, for example). Replace the cutting wheel when the cut line becomes irregular or when the material no longer snaps cleanly along the scored line.
