A manual tile cutter for ceramic tiles with a maximum cutting length of 600 mm, fitted with a YG6X carbide cutting wheel and dual guide rails that keep the tool stable during work.
It handles tiles in formats up to 60 cm, which covers most of the standard sizes used in domestic and commercial construction. The cutting length determines the largest tile that can be cut in a single pass.
The YG6X carbide is characterised by a hardness of 89-91 HRA and resistance to abrasion, which translates into several thousand cuts without any loss of sharpness. This material retains its properties even when working with hard wall tiles and porcelain.
Two parallel guide rails eliminate lateral play and prevent the cutting wheel from drifting off line during a cut. This design makes cuts repeatable and minimises the risk of uneven edges, particularly with materials over 8 mm thick.
The foam layer absorbs the shock when the tile is snapped, reducing the point loads that can lead to cracks in unexpected places. The surface also protects the glazed face from scratches while the material is being positioned.

Before you start cutting, check the guide rails for play and make sure the cutting wheel is clean. Position the tile with the glazed face up, rest its edge against the side guide and align it with the measuring scale. The cutting line should remain visible along its full length.
Score the tile in one steady stroke from the beginning to the end of the tile, applying constant pressure to the cutting wheel. The tile is then snapped by pressing the lever at the centre of the score line. Thicker tiles may require greater breaking force.
The YG6X carbide cutting wheel does not require sharpening, but it should be cleaned regularly of ceramic dust with a brush or compressed air. A worn wheel makes itself known through difficulty in scoring the tile and the appearance of uneven score lines. The wheel should be replaced in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
The guide rails should be lubricated periodically with a technical grease to ensure smooth movement of the carriage. Lateral play should also be checked — excessive play leads to inaccurate cuts and requires adjustment or replacement of the guide components.
