A building line made from polypropylene yarn, 100 metres long and 2.0 mm in diameter. Designed for marking out masonry lines, setting out and checking levels during construction and finishing work.
The line is produced by braiding on a specialist braiding machine. This construction distributes stress evenly along the entire length and increases resistance to breaking. Polypropylene has low moisture absorption, which helps the line retain its dimensional stability in outdoor conditions.
The line's limited elasticity is crucial when marking out straight lines and checking levels. Minimal elongation under load translates into precise measurement and setting out, particularly over spans of more than a few metres.
The braided polypropylene yarn structure increases the line's durability on contact with rough surfaces such as brick, concrete and render. The product retains its mechanical properties even when repeatedly tensioned and pulled across the edges of building components.
Polypropylene is naturally resistant to oils, petrol, mild acids and alkalis. In addition, the material is stable under UV radiation, allowing the line to be used outdoors for long periods without degradation of the fibre structure.

A diameter of 2.0 mm is a compromise between line visibility and resistance to breaking. For work that involves frequent tensioning over longer distances (over 10 m), thicker options (2.5-3.0 mm) are worth considering. For precise finishing work over shorter distances, lines with a diameter of 1.5 mm can be used.
Before starting work, check the condition of the line along its entire length, looking for any chafing or damage to the structure. The line should be tensioned evenly, without sudden jerks that can weaken the fibres locally.
After finishing work, clean the line of mortar, render or other building debris. Once dry, store the product rolled up in a place protected from direct sunlight and moisture. Correct storage extends the line's service life and prevents premature ageing of the polypropylene.
When working with the line, avoid contact with sharp metal edges that could cut the fibres. If the line must be run around a corner, use guides or protective pads.
