Masonry Line 75m Vorel 17497
A polypropylene masonry line designed for marking out straight lines during bricklaying, rendering and construction work. Model 17497 is supplied on a reel with a handle that makes it easy to store and unwind.
Features of the masonry line
Polypropylene construction
Polypropylene resists stretching and fraying when the line is tensioned repeatedly between two points. The material keeps its properties in damp conditions, which matters when bricklaying with cement mortar.
1.2 mm line thickness
The 1.2 mm diameter ensures the line is clearly visible against a range of substrates while retaining adequate mechanical strength. This thickness allows edges to be marked out accurately without the risk of the line snapping.
75 metre length
At 75 m, the line is long enough for most standard construction work – building partition walls, marking out render planes or checking plumb. The length allows work on buildings of up to several dozen square metres without the need to join sections together.
Orange colour
The strong orange colour provides high-contrast visibility against both light and dark surfaces – concrete, brick, render or timber. The colour makes it easier to run the line accurately under the varying lighting conditions found on site.

Use and storage
How to use
The line is stretched between two points and tensioned until it forms a straight line. When bricklaying it acts as a reference for laying bricks – the top edge of each unit should meet the line. When rendering it marks out the plane of the finished surface. The reel with handle allows controlled unwinding and rewinding without tangling.
Storage
Once work is finished, wind the line back onto the reel, avoiding excessive tension. Store in a dry place away from heat sources and sharp edges. Polypropylene keeps its properties over a wide temperature range, but prolonged exposure to UV light can gradually weaken the fibres.
