A 115 mm aluminium oxide disc designed for cutting stainless steel, mild steel, non-ferrous metals and aluminium. The fibreglass-reinforced construction ensures safe operation at speeds of up to 80 m/s.
Aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) is characterised by high hardness and abrasion resistance. It ensures efficient cutting of various types of steel and non-ferrous metals, maintaining its sharpness over a longer service life.
Synthetic resin bonds the abrasive grains, while a fibreglass reinforcing layer increases the mechanical strength of the disc. This construction minimises the risk of cracking during operation at high speeds.
The thin profile of the disc reduces resistance during cutting, which translates into lower energy consumption and faster cuts. A narrow cut generates less material waste.
The parameter defining the maximum permissible peripheral speed of the disc. At a diameter of 115 mm, this corresponds to 13,300 revolutions per minute. Exceeding this value can damage the disc.
| Model | G78201 |
| Outer diameter | 115 mm |
| Disc thickness | 1.0 mm |
| Bore diameter | 22.23 mm |
| Abrasive grain type | Aluminium oxide |
| Bond type | Resin, fibreglass-reinforced |
| Maximum speed | 13,300 rpm |
| Permissible surface speed | 80 m/s |
| Materials for cutting | Stainless steel (INOX), mild steel, high-grade steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminium |
Before fitting, verify the bore diameter (22.23 mm is standard for 115 mm angle grinders) and the tool's maximum speed. The grinder must not exceed 13,300 rpm. This information is given on the rating plate of the power tool or in its instruction manual.
During cutting, the disc should be held at 90° to the surface of the material. Avoid applying lateral pressure to the disc, as this can damage it. Working with the disc requires the use of personal protective equipment: safety goggles, gloves and work clothing.
The disc is intended solely for cutting the metals listed in the specification. Using it to cut stone, concrete or wood will cause immediate damage and may be dangerous. After use, the disc should be stored in a dry place, away from sources of moisture that can weaken the resin bond.
Surface speed (V) depends on the disc diameter and the motor speed according to the formula: V = π × D × n / 60, where D is the diameter in metres and n is the speed in revolutions per minute. For a 115 mm disc at 13,300 rpm, the maximum permissible value of 80 m/s is obtained.
