Rotary burr made from #45 carbon steel with an oxidised finish, designed for working steel and aluminium. The 1/4" HEX shank makes it compatible with most drill drivers and die grinders.
The material has a carbon content of 0.42-0.50%, giving a hardness of 170-217 HB. The oxidised finish forms a protective layer that reduces friction and delays surface corrosion when working with metals.
The 15 mm diameter is the ideal size for milling grooves, deburring edges and chamfering holes in metal components. It removes material at a rate that allows efficient work without overloading the tool's motor.
The 6.3 mm (1/4") hexagonal shank fits standard quick-change chucks on drill drivers and die grinders. The hex geometry stops the tool from spinning in the chuck under load, which improves both safety and precision.
This figure sets the upper speed limit at which the burr remains stable and safe to use. Exceeding this limit can overheat the material and damage the cutting head. For steel, 3,000-6,000 rpm is recommended; for aluminium, 6,000-9,000 rpm.

Before fitting, check that the power tool has a 1/4" quick-change chuck or an adapter that accepts hex shanks. The tool must offer variable speed control up to a maximum of 11,000 rpm. Impact drivers are not recommended, as their vibration damages the cutting head.
Structural steel: 3,000-6,000 rpm, feed rate 20-40 mm/min, cooling with a coolant emulsion or cutting oil. Aluminium: 6,000-9,000 rpm, feed rate 40-80 mm/min, cooling with compressed air or dry. Speeds that are too high scorch the material; speeds that are too low tear the edges.
Once you have finished, remove swarf with compressed air or a brush and clean any residue of the workpiece material from the surface. Store the burr in a dry place, protected from moisture that causes corrosion. Checking the condition of the cutting head regularly allows wear to be spotted early, so the burr can be replaced before cutting precision is lost.
