A hand-operated installation tool designed for setting Molly hollow wall anchors in plasterboard and other materials with a void behind the facing. The set includes Molly bolts in two sizes, so work can begin straight away.
The steel body resists deformation when working with anchors that require considerable setting force. The metal construction translates into tool durability under intensive use.
The handle is covered with a non-slip material which reduces the risk of the hand slipping during setting. This is particularly important when working in hard-to-reach places or during prolonged use.
The tool operates by mechanically drawing the anchor's thread, which causes the wings to open on the far side of the partition. This method removes the need for access to the rear face of the mounting material.
The set contains 10 Molly bolts — 5 of size M5 and 5 of size M6. This allows the tool to be tested and the first installations to be carried out without having to buy fittings separately.

The Molly bolt setting tool is used wherever a fixing has to be made in a material without access to its rear side. Typical applications include:
A Molly bolt is a hollow wall anchor designed for materials that are hollow inside — such as plasterboard, thin panels or furniture boards. Once the bolt has been inserted into the hole, the setting tool mechanically draws its thread, which causes the metal wings to open on the far side of the partition. The wings press against the rear face of the material, creating a durable anchorage. This operation can be carried out by hand or with a screwdriver, but the setting tool ensures the correct pressure and even opening of the wings, which translates into the load-bearing capacity of the joint.
The bolt size should be matched to the diameter of the drilled hole and the thickness of the material being fixed. M5 bolts are used for lighter loads and thinner materials, while M6 bolts are used for heavier loads. Before buying, it is worth checking the material thickness range specified by the bolt manufacturer to make sure the wings will be able to open correctly.
