Protective pads combining a hard plastic base with a soft felt layer, designed to protect surfaces when nails are hammered in. The two-layer construction cushions hammer blows and eliminates the risk of scratches on the material being worked.
The rigid plastic base provides stability while the nail is driven in, and the felt layer absorbs the energy of hammer blows. This design eliminates direct contact between the metal tool and the protected surface, preventing dents and scratches.
The 30 mm size suits typical joinery and assembly applications, where nails 40-60 mm long are used. A pad of this diameter effectively spreads the impact force over an area of approximately 7 cm², minimising point loading.
Felt has vibration-damping and impact-absorbing properties. When a nail is driven in, the material compensates for uneven surfaces and reduces noise, which matters when working with delicate finishing materials.
The set contains 8 pads, enough to protect a standard assembly project. The pads can be used repeatedly – once the nail is removed, the pad retains its protective properties and is suitable for further use.

The 30 mm pad works with nails from 40 mm in length upwards. The head of the nail should be between 4-8 mm in diameter to ensure a stable fit in the pad. For thinner or thicker nails, choose pads with a suitably matched central hole.
Before use, place the pad on the surface at the point where the nail is to be hammered in, with the felt layer facing the material being protected. The nail is driven through the central hole in the pad, keeping the hammer perpendicular to the surface.
Once the job is finished, the pads can be carefully removed and cleaned of any dirt. The felt layer retains its properties over many cycles of use, provided it is not mechanically damaged or soaked. Storing in a dry place extends the life of the product.
When working with particularly delicate surfaces, it is worth driving a test nail into a hidden part of the material to verify how effective the protection is for the specific type of substrate.
