A non-contact voltage detector with a cable continuity test function, designed for the safe location of voltage in electrical installations without the need for direct contact with conductors.
Voltage detection through cable insulation without the need to expose the conductors. The inductive method registers the electromagnetic field around a live cable, which eliminates the risk of direct contact with live parts and improves safety when locating faults.
The wide detection range covers voltages from standard 230 V domestic installations, through 400 V three-phase supplies, up to higher industrial voltages. The device responds to AC voltage, which is the dominant type in the supply networks of buildings and machinery.
Detected voltage is indicated both by an LED light and an acoustic signal. The dual alarm system allows work in noisy industrial environments and in conditions of limited visibility, where a single type of indication may not be sufficient.
Automatic switch-off after a period of inactivity extends battery life and prevents discharge if the device is left switched on. The function is particularly useful during intensive work on site, where replacing batteries may be difficult.

An inductive voltage tester detects the electromagnetic field generated by the flow of alternating current in a cable. It requires neither galvanic contact nor piercing of the insulation. The sensitivity of detection depends on the distance of the sensor from the cable and the current intensity. The method is effective for locating cables concealed in walls and for verifying the presence of voltage in enclosed installations.
Before first use, fit two AAA batteries in accordance with the polarity marked in the battery compartment. Before each measurement, it is advisable to verify that the tester is working correctly by bringing it close to a known voltage source, such as a socket.
When detecting voltage, bring the tip of the tester close to the cable or surface being tested. If voltage is present, the device activates its visual and audible indication. The intensity of the signal increases as it gets closer to the voltage source.
The continuity test function is used to check cables and electrical connections. It requires direct contact between the test probes and the points of the circuit being tested. An acoustic signal confirms electrical continuity.
When work is finished, the device switches off automatically. Store the tester in a dry place, away from sources of moisture and high temperatures. Remove the batteries during longer periods of non-use to prevent leakage.
Inductive detection is not a substitute for measuring voltage with a multimeter and does not determine the voltage value. It is used solely to locate the presence of AC voltage. It does not detect DC voltage. Sensitivity may be limited by thick layers of insulation, screened cables or the presence of metal structures. Before working on an installation, always confirm the absence of voltage with a professional tester.
