A hand tool designed for calibrating and deburring PEX-AL-PEX and PERT-AL-PERT multilayer pipes in the three most common installation diameters. It combines internal calibration with edge deburring after cutting.
Technical features
Three diameters in one tool
The calibrator handles pipes with diameters of 16, 20 and 25 mm, covering most plumbing and heating applications. It removes the need for a separate tool for each diameter.
Compatibility with multilayer pipes
Designed specifically for use with PEX-AL-PEX and PERT-AL-PERT pipes — materials used in modern installations. The aluminium layer in these pipes requires precise calibration after cutting to ensure leak-tight joints.
Dual deburring function
The deburring tool works both inside and outside the pipe. It removes the burr created during cutting, which prevents damage to the seals in the fittings and ensures that compression joints seat correctly.
Calibration before assembly
It restores the round cross-section of the pipe after cutting or mechanical deformation. Calibration is essential before fitting compression fittings — a deformed pipe can cause leaks.

PEX-AL-PEX and PERT-AL-PERT pipes — how they differ
PEX-AL-PEX
A pipe consisting of two layers of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) with a layer of aluminium between them. The aluminium layer provides shape stability and an oxygen barrier. Used in heating and domestic water installations. Once cut, it requires calibration because of its tendency to return to its coiled shape.
PERT-AL-PERT
Similar in construction to PEX-AL-PEX, but with raised-temperature-resistant polyethylene (PERT) instead of cross-linked polyethylene. Easier to work with, and more flexible at low temperatures. It also requires calibration after cutting to maintain joint geometry.
Use and maintenance
Before use, check that the pipe diameter matches the marking on the tool. Insert the end of the pipe into the appropriate calibration hole and turn it a few times. Then use the deburring tool, moving it around the edge of the pipe — first on the inside, then on the outside.
After use, remove any plastic debris from the deburring blades. Store the tool in a dry place. Do not use it on pipes with diameters other than those specified — this may damage the calibration components.
Checking compatibility
Before purchasing, make sure that the pipes in your installation are 16, 20 or 25 mm (outside diameter). For other diameters (e.g. 32 mm), a different calibrator model will be required. The tool is not suitable for single-layer PE or PP pipes.
