Protective features of the S3 safety shoe
Steel toe cap 200 J / 15 kN
The metal cap protects the toes against impacts of up to 200 joules and compression of up to 15 kilonewtons. These parameters correspond to an object weighing around 20 kg falling from a height of 1 metre, which is the standard level of protection in construction and industry.
Penetration-resistant midsole 1100 N
The protective layer in the sole prevents penetration by sharp objects such as nails, metal swarf or glass. It withstands pressure of up to 1100 newtons, which corresponds to a weight of around 110 kg acting on a sharp edge with a small contact area.
PU/PU sole with shock absorption

Use and maintenance
The leather upper requires regular cleaning to remove dust and mud with a brush or damp cloth. After intensive contact with water, the footwear should be dried at room temperature, away from radiators — rapid drying makes the leather stiff and causes the material to crack.
The PU/PU sole retains its slip-resistant properties when dirt is regularly removed from the tread. A build-up of oil, sand or other substances reduces grip. The toe cap and penetration-resistant midsole should be checked periodically — visible deformation or damage to the upper may indicate a weakening of the protective structure.
Reflective elements improve visibility in low-light conditions. Checking their condition regularly ensures that the safety function is maintained when working in areas with moving vehicles or on access roads.
