Use and maintenance
Preparing the surface before scraping
Before starting work, it is worth scoring the plaster at regular intervals or weakening it mechanically with a hammer. Cement plasters can be dampened with water, which makes them easier to remove. Check the condition of the substrate – loose fragments should be removed by hand before using the scraper.
Working technique with the scraper
The tool should be held at an angle of 30-45 degrees to the surface, pressing the blade against the boundary between the plaster and the substrate. The movement should be even, without jerking. With hard plasters, it is worth working in shorter sections, gradually enlarging the working area.
Maintenance after finishing work
After use, clean the scraper of plaster residues and building dust. The blade can be wiped with a dry cloth or a wire brush. Store the tool in a dry place to avoid corrosion of the metal parts. Check the condition of the handle and joints periodically.
