Pneumatic Needle Scaler KD3510

A pneumatic needle scaler designed for mechanical cleaning of metal surfaces — removing rust, old paint coatings, welding slag and hard industrial deposits. The set of 19 steel needles strikes at 4,500 blows per minute, adapting to the shape of the surface being cleaned, including hard-to-reach and irregular areas.

Blows per minute4,500 bpm
Number of needles19 pcs
Working pressure90 PSI (approx. 6.2 bar)
Air consumption5 CFM

Tool Features

Set of 19 steel needles

The 7" (178 mm) long, 1/8" (3.2 mm) thick needles work independently of one another, allowing effective cleaning of contoured surfaces, welds, edges and hard-to-reach corners that disc tools cannot access.

4,500 blows per minute

The high blow rate effectively breaks up and dislodges hard deposits — welding slag, hardened rust or multiple layers of paint — without the need to apply excessive pressure.

Low Air Consumption — 5 CFM

An air demand of 5 CFM at 90 PSI is within the operating range of typical workshop compressors. Before connecting the tool, check the compressor output — a minimum of around 6–8 CFM at 90 PSI is recommended to ensure continuous operation.

1/4" air inlet

The standard 1/4" BSP/NPT inlet thread allows direct connection to commonly used pneumatic hoses and couplings without the need for adaptors.

Typical Applications

  • Removing welding slag from welds and surrounding areas
  • Descaling steel structures and machine components
  • Cleaning surfaces before painting or applying protective coatings
  • Removing old coats of paint and varnish
  • Cleaning profiles, angle iron and contoured surfaces
  • Maintenance work in shipyards and industrial plants
  • Preparing surfaces for welding
  • Removing hard mineral and industrial deposits

Compressor Compatibility

The KD3510 requires a compressor capable of maintaining a working pressure of 90 PSI with an output of at least 5–6 CFM (approx. 140–170 l/min). Compressors with a tank capacity of 24–50 l and a 1.5–2 kW motor normally meet these requirements for intermittent use. For continuous operation, higher-output units are recommended to avoid pressure drops that affect the tool's efficiency.

Use and Maintenance

Before connecting the tool to the air supply, make sure the line pressure does not exceed 90 PSI. Using a higher pressure may shorten the service life of the needles and seals. An inline oiler is recommended in the pneumatic system — it lubricates the moving parts and extends the tool's trouble-free service life.

Check the needles regularly for wear and deformation. Damaged needles should be replaced as a complete set — working with incomplete needle sets reduces cleaning efficiency and can cause uneven loading of the mechanism. When work is finished, disconnect the tool from the air supply, clean off any contamination and store it in a dry place.
