Quick release coupling plug with a 1/2" male thread for fast connection of air tools to a compressed air system. Compatible with the standard sockets used on compressors.
The 1/2" male thread is the standard size used in pneumatic systems. The plug screws directly into the coupling socket or into an air tool with a matching female thread. Before fitting, it is worth checking the thread type on your tool – most professional air tools use this size.
The maximum working pressure defines the safe operating range of the coupling. 16 bar (around 232 psi) is sufficient for most workshop applications – typical compressors run at 6-10 bar. Keeping a suitable safety margin increases the durability of the connection and prevents leaks.
This figure specifies the maximum volume of air that can pass through the coupling per minute. 1000 l/min suits tools with medium to high air demand, such as grinders, impact wrenches and spray guns. Too low a flow rate could restrict the power of the tool.
The brass body provides mechanical strength and a tight connection. The nickel layer protects against corrosion and wear, which extends the service life of the coupling in workshop conditions. Brass is also easy to machine, which allows the thread to be cut precisely.

The type 800 plug is a standard used by most manufacturers of pneumatic equipment. It fits the typical sockets fitted to compressors, manifolds and hoses. Before buying, it is worth checking whether the socket on your equipment is marked as type 800 or described as "European standard" – that guarantees full compatibility.
Before first use, check that the thread is clean and remove any dirt. When fitting the plug into the socket, tighten the connection by hand, avoiding excessive force that could damage the thread. Brass couplings need to be handled carefully when tightening – the material is relatively soft.
Regular maintenance consists of cleaning the outer surface from time to time and checking that the connection is airtight. If a leak is noticed, it is worth checking the condition of the thread – damage can occur through repeated assembly and disassembly. In industrial installations, filters and water separators are recommended, as they protect the couplings from dirt and moisture.
After fitting the plug, it is worth carrying out a leak test – connect the compressed air and brush the connection with a soapy solution. Bubbles appearing indicate a leak. If there is a leak, check that the connection is tight or inspect the condition of the thread.
