Premium Dowelling Jig 6 8 10 mm GEKO G31010
A precision jig for making dowel joints in solid wood and wood-based panels. It allows holes to be drilled both on the edges and on the faces of components.
Technical features
Drilling in two planes
The jig allows holes to be drilled in two planes — on the edges of boards and on their faces. This makes it possible to fit dowels in corner joints as well as T-joints and cross joints.
Three diameters in one tool
The set includes guide bushes of 6, 8 and 10 mm in diameter, matching the standard sizes of wooden dowels used in joinery. Changing the bushes allows the jig to be adapted quickly to different types of joint without the need for separate jigs.
Aluminium alloy construction
The body is made from aluminium alloy, which keeps the jig light while maintaining sufficient rigidity. This material does not rust and withstands the conditions typically found in a joiner's workshop.
Hardened steel bushes

Use and maintenance
Preparation
Before drilling, select the correct bush diameter for the size of dowel being used. Press the jig firmly against the surface of the material and hold it in place while drilling to prevent it from moving. Drill perpendicular to the face of the guide bush.
Choosing drill bits
Use drill bits with a diameter matching the bushes (6, 8 or 10 mm). Brad-point drill bits are recommended, as they make it easier to start drilling accurately. Bits should be sharp — blunt tools can place excessive load on the bushes and tear the wood fibres.
Maintenance
After use, remove sawdust from the guide bushes and the body of the jig. The steel bushes can be lubricated periodically with a drop of machine oil to keep them working smoothly. Store the jig in a dry place, protected from mechanical damage.
