Ratchet 3/8" 72T TVARDY Quick Release T00111

A professional hand tool with a precision ratchet mechanism and a quick-release socket system. Its chrome vanadium steel construction ensures durability under intensive workshop use.

Square drive3/8" (10 mm)
Tooth count72T
Swing arc
Release systemQuick Release

Technical features

72T ratchet mechanism

The 72-tooth design needs only a 5° swing to move on to the next tooth. This means you can work in spaces where a standard 24- or 36-tooth ratchet does not have enough room to move. It is suited to fasteners mounted close to walls, in narrow engine bays or on pipe fittings with limited access.

Quick Release system

The quick-release mechanism on the ratchet head lets you change sockets with a single movement, without having to pull back the ball detent. This speeds up work on jobs that require frequent socket changes, for example when dismantling assemblies made up of fasteners of different diameters.

Chrome vanadium steel (Cr-V)

The chrome vanadium alloy offers greater hardness and wear resistance than ordinary tool steel. Chromium improves corrosion resistance, while vanadium improves resistance to shock loads. This material is used in tools intended for work at high torque.

Drive ball detent

The 3/8" square drive is fitted with a ball detent that prevents the socket from slipping off accidentally during use. This system keeps the socket on the ratchet even when working vertically or upside down, which matters when fitting components overhead or in unusual configurations.

Applications

  • Automotive servicing — removal and fitting of braking system, suspension and engine components
  • Installation work — fitting of plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems
  • Industrial mechanics — machine maintenance, replacement of bearings and drive components
  • Repair of construction and agricultural equipment
  • Steel structure assembly — bolted connections in confined spaces
  • Work in narrow automotive recesses where a standard ratchet does not have room to move
  • Domestic appliance servicing — removal of casings, panels and fasteners

Socket compatibility

The ratchet works with all 3/8" (10 mm) square drive sockets. This size is the standard for mid-range workshop tools — smaller than the 1/2" used for heavy mechanical work and larger than the 1/4" used in precision mechanics. Typical 3/8" sockets cover a range from 6 mm to 24 mm (or 1/4" to 1" in imperial sizes).

Use and maintenance

The direction switch on the ratchet head lets you change the working direction (tightening/loosening) without removing the tool from the fastener. The direction should only be changed when the mechanism is not under load.

The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication with lithium grease or machine oil, particularly after use in dusty or damp conditions. Access to the mechanism is gained by removing the head cover (in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions).

When using the ratchet, avoid fitting lever extensions (pipes slipped over the handle) — these increase the torque beyond the parameters the mechanism was designed for and can damage the ratchet teeth.
