A combination spanner that brings together the functions of an open-end spanner, a ring spanner and a ratchet in a single tool. Made from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel with a 72-tooth ratchet mechanism, it is designed for service and workshop work requiring precision in confined working spaces.
A 72-tooth ratchet requires a working arc of only 5°, which allows work in areas with limited access where a full turn of the spanner is impossible. A direction switch allows the direction of rotation to be changed quickly without removing the spanner from the fastener.
The 12-point profile provides a larger contact area with the nut or bolt head than a standard 6-point ring, reducing the risk of damaging the edges of the fasteners. It allows work with both 6-point and 12-point nuts.
CrV material is characterised by increased mechanical strength and resistance to abrasive wear. The addition of vanadium increases the hardness of the steel while maintaining resistance to brittle fracture, which extends the service life of the tool under intensive use.
The chrome layer protects the surface against corrosion and makes it easier to keep the tool clean. Induction hardening increases the surface hardness of the working parts, minimising wear at the points of contact with the fasteners.
| Model | YT-1654 |
| Manufacturer | YATO |
| Spanner size | 11 mm |
| Type | Ratchet combination spanner |
| Number of ratchet teeth | 72 |
| Ring profile | 12-point |
| Material | Chrome vanadium steel (CrV) |
| Surface finish | Chrome plated, polished |
| Overall length (L) | 165 mm |
| Open-end width (B) | 23.9 mm |
| Ring end width (D) | 25 mm |
| Open-end thickness (S1) | 6.6 mm |
| Ring end thickness (S2) | 8.4 mm |
The 11 mm size corresponds to the width across the parallel flats of a nut or bolt head. Before use, make sure that the spanner size matches the dimensions of the fastener. A fit that is too loose may damage the edges of the nut or bolt.
Before starting work, check the technical condition of the ratchet mechanism and the working parts. Damage to the teeth or jaws of the spanner can lead to incorrect transmission of torque.
When tightening fasteners, the use of a torque wrench is recommended in order to control the tightening torque, particularly on critical joints. A ratchet spanner is intended primarily for quick assembly and disassembly, not for precise tightening.
After finishing work, clean the spanner of dirt and dry it. The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication with technical grease, which ensures smooth operation and extends the service life of the tool. Store in a dry place, protected from moisture.
A 72-tooth ratchet requires a 5° working arc (360°/72). This means that in a space where only 5° of rotation is available, fasteners can still be tightened or loosened effectively. Standard spanners require a much greater range of movement.
