A ratchet with a 3/8" drive designed for use with sockets in this size. The 72-tooth mechanism and chrome vanadium steel body deliver precise operation and resistance to the mechanical loads typical of workshop and service work.
A higher tooth count in the ratchet mechanism means a smaller arc of rotation is needed to advance by one tooth — it is 5°. This makes it possible to work in confined spaces where a full hand swing is not achievable, for example when tightening bolts deep inside an engine bay.
The chromium and vanadium alloy increases the hardness of the steel and its resistance to fatigue cracking compared with carbon steel. Cr-V tools retain their mechanical properties under repeated torsional loads, which matters in regular workshop use.
The 3/8" size is an intermediate standard — a wider range of applications than 1/4", yet smaller and lighter than 1/2". It is used mainly in automotive work on bolts with medium tightening torques. Compatible with sockets, extension bars and adapters in this size.
The thumbwheel on the body allows the direction of rotation to be changed without removing the tool from the fastener. This speeds up work when alternately tightening and loosening fasteners.

The KD11010 ratchet works with sockets, extension bars, universal joints and adapters in the 3/8" standard. Before buying, make sure your sockets have a 3/8" drive — this size is marked on the sockets or in the set documentation. It is not directly compatible with 1/4" or 1/2" sockets without an adapter.
