Replacement blades for scratch floats, made from galvanised carbon steel. This set of three 400 mm blades is a spare part for professional tools used when floating render and facade compounds.
The blade material resists corrosion when working with wet building compounds. The zinc coating protects against oxidation, extending blade service life even under heavy use.
The 400 mm length covers the standard aluminium profiles used in scratch floats. The 25 mm width is a compromise between working surface and blade flexibility when floating.
This parameter determines the depth of the grooves left on the render surface. A height of 2.1 mm is the standard value for facade finishing, allowing effective floating without removing excessive material.
The fixing system – clips and screws into the aluminium profile – allows individual blades to be replaced without replacing the whole tool. This lowers running costs with regular use.

This set of three 400 mm blades is designed for use with the aluminium profiles of scratch floats. The number of blades required depends on the length of the base tool:
Float 800 mm: requires 2 blades
Float 1200 mm: requires 3 blades (fully compatible with the YT-52198 set)
Float 1600 mm: requires 4 blades
Float 2000 mm: requires 5 blades
Before buying, check the type of fixing on your float. YATO blades are compatible with systems that use clips and screws to mount them in an aluminium profile.
Replacing the blades on a scratch float is a straightforward process. The worn blades are removed by undoing the fixing screws and taking the clips out of the aluminium profile. The new blades are slid into the profile guides, positioned at the correct spacing and secured with the clips and screws.
Blades should be replaced regularly once the teeth have visibly dulled or the blade has deformed. Worn blades leave uneven marks on the render and require more pressure during use, which reduces working comfort. Replacing all the blades at the same time ensures even floating across the full width of the tool.
