Roofing torch for torch-on roofing felt work, fitted with a gas shut-off valve and a 2m hose. The 780mm length lets you work standing upright, reducing strain on the back during long hours on roofs.
Key features of the VOREL roofing torch
780mm working length
The extended torch design lets you torch-weld roofing felt in an upright position, with no need to bend over. This reduces operator fatigue when working on large roof areas and improves ergonomics.
50mm nozzle
The 50mm nozzle diameter produces a wide flame that speeds up the torch-welding of roofing felt. A larger heat-affected area means faster progress and lower gas consumption per square metre.
Gas shut-off valve
The automatic valve shuts off the gas supply when the torch is set down, eliminating fuel loss during breaks. This feature also improves safety by minimising the risk of uncontrolled gas leakage.
2m hose
The two-metre hose connecting the torch to the gas cylinder gives you freedom of movement while torch-welding. Its length lets you position the cylinder at a safe distance from the work area and makes the torch easier to manoeuvre across the roof.

Operation and maintenance
Preparation before use
Before starting work, check that the connections between the hose, the cylinder and the torch are gas-tight. The gas cylinder should stand upright and be kept at a safe distance from heat sources. A pressure regulator suited to the type of gas being used is recommended.
Compatibility with gas cylinders
The torch works with cylinders containing butane or a propane-butane mix. Propane-butane performs better at low temperatures (below 0°C), while pure butane is sufficient for summer work. Use a suitable regulator and hose approved for use with liquefied petroleum gas.
Maintenance
After use, check the condition of the nozzle and clean it of any debris. The hose should be stored away from mechanical damage and UV exposure. Check regularly that the connections are gas-tight and that the seal in the shut-off valve is in good condition.
