Use and maintenance
Preparation before use
Before first use, rinse the brush in water (water-based paints) or thinner (oil-based paints) to remove loose bristles. Squeeze out excess liquid; do not twist the bristles.
The technique for painting with a round brush involves holding the tool at an angle of 45-60 degrees to the surface. The round shape allows work in various directions without the need to rotate the brush. When painting edges and corners, the tip of the bristles allows precise line control.
Cleaning after use
After finishing work, rinse the brush thoroughly with a suitable solvent (water for acrylic paints, white spirit for oil-based paints). Rinse the bristles until the liquid remains clean. Dry hanging with the bristles pointing down or horizontally.
Blended bristles require gentler handling than purely synthetic ones. Avoid prolonged soaking in solvents, which may weaken the natural fibres. Once dry, the bristles can be gently reshaped with the fingers to restore their original form.
