AS-10 GEKO G01195 Sandblasting Gun

A pneumatic tool for abrasive blasting surface treatment. It is used to remove rust, old paint and contamination from a range of materials. Requires connection to a compressor.

Working pressure2 - 5 bar
Air consumption160 L/min
Hopper capacity1000 cm³
Air inlet1/4"

Key features

Gravity-fed system with top-mounted hopper

The 1000 cm³ hopper mounted above the gun delivers a constant flow of abrasive under gravity. This design removes the need for a pressurised abrasive feed.

6 mm steel nozzle

A 6 mm nozzle diameter is a compromise between the reach of the blast stream and its concentration. Steel provides abrasion resistance — a key factor when working with hard abrasives such as corundum or glass beads.

2-5 bar pressure range

Pressure adjustment lets you match the blasting intensity to the material being treated. Lower pressure (2-3 bar) is used on wood and thin sheet metal, higher pressure (4-5 bar) on thick layers of rust or paint.

Abrasive versatility

The design allows the gun to be used with a range of abrasives: corundum, glass beads, quartz sand and steel shot. The choice of abrasive depends on the hardness of the material being cleaned and the surface roughness required.

Compressor requirements

Minimum compressor specifications

Free air delivery: minimum 200 L/min (with a margin for pressure drops). Pressure: 6-8 bar. Receiver: minimum 50 litres recommended for stable operation. Piston compressors rated at 2-3 hp meet these requirements. With a lower compressor output, blasting will be intermittent — you will have to wait for pressure to build up in the receiver.

Preparing the air supply

A moisture separator and air filter should be fitted upstream of the gun. Moisture makes the abrasive clump in the hopper and blocks the nozzle. Air hose: minimum 8 mm internal diameter, length up to 5 m (longer hoses increase flow resistance).

Use and maintenance

Before starting work, check that all connections are airtight and inspect the nozzle. A worn nozzle (enlarged bore) reduces blasting efficiency. The abrasive must be dry — damp material will not flow through the nozzle.

After every use, empty the abrasive from the hopper and blow the gun through with compressed air. Abrasive left in the hopper can absorb moisture and set hard. Clean the nozzle with the supplied brush — accumulated abrasive dust reduces its bore.

Periodically check the condition of the seals and the abrasive flow regulator. Leaks cause uncontrolled discharge of material and a drop in working pressure. Moving parts should be lubricated with a dust-resistant grease.

Personal protective equipment

Mandatory: a mask with a P3 filter (protection against silica dust), leather gloves, sealed goggles or a face shield, and heavy-duty work clothing. Blasting generates large amounts of dust — working indoors requires mechanical ventilation or a blast cabinet.
