Hand-held sanding block with electrocorundum abrasive for precise sanding and smoothing of surfaces. Designed for working wood, metal and plastics, and for preparing surfaces for painting.
The P120 grade (125 micrometres) provides a medium grit suitable for removing minor imperfections and preparing surfaces for varnishing. It removes marks left by coarser sanding without the risk of excessively scratching the material.
Electrocorundum (aluminium oxide) is characterised by high hardness and wear resistance. The abrasive grains stay sharp during use, which translates into even sanding and a longer service life for the block.
The size of the block allows precise control during hand sanding. Its proportions make it possible to reach edges, corners and awkward spots where power sanders cannot be used.
The block is suitable for working a range of materials – from solid wood and plywood, through non-ferrous metals, to plastics and cured filler. Its universal application removes the need for separate tools.

P120 grit sits in the medium grit range. It is used after initial sanding with a coarser grit (P60–P80) and before final finishing with a finer grit (P180–P240). With softwood, P120 may be sufficient as a final grit, whereas with hardwood or paint finishes, further smoothing is recommended.
During use, hold the block flat against the surface being sanded, using even strokes along the direction of the wood grain, or in a single direction for other materials. Excessive pressure shortens the life of the tool and can cause uneven abrasion.
During intensive sanding, the abrasive grains become clogged with dust and debris. Cleaning the block with a wire brush or tapping it against a hard surface partly restores its effectiveness. When work is finished, store the block in a dry place, away from sources of moisture that could weaken the binder structure.
The sanding process generates fine dust that can irritate the respiratory tract and eyes. A dust mask and safety glasses are recommended. When sanding painted materials or those containing toxic substances, adequate ventilation of the room is essential.
