Sanding disc designed for sanding gypsum skim coats, thin-coat plasters and mortars. Made from sandpaper with dust extraction perforations, compatible with long-reach (giraffe) and wall sanders with hook-and-loop attachment.
P180 grit corresponds to an average grain size of approximately 82 micrometres. It delivers a smooth surface finish after sanding skim coats and plasters, preparing the substrate for painting without deep scratches. Used in the final stages of sanding work.
The holes distributed across the disc surface enable effective dust extraction when working with a sander fitted with a dust extraction system. This prevents the abrasive grain from clogging, extends the life of the disc and improves visibility of the work surface.
The hook-and-loop fastening system allows discs to be changed quickly without tools. The disc's loop backing layer adheres to the sander's hook-and-loop backing pad. Check that the disc diameter matches the sander's backing pad before purchase.
Disc edges without sharp ends minimise the risk of scratches and hollows on the sanded surface. A solution used in discs for finishing work, where even sanding is what matters.

The 225 mm disc works with long-reach (giraffe) sanders and wall sanders fitted with a 225 mm hook-and-loop backing pad. Before purchase, check the diameter of the sander's backing pad and whether a dust extraction system is available to make use of the disc's perforations.
The P180 designation under the FEPA standard (Federation of European Producers of Abrasives) defines the average abrasive grain size. Lower numbers (e.g. P80, P120) indicate coarser grain for coarse sanding, while higher numbers (e.g. P240, P320) indicate finer grain for finish sanding. P180 represents a compromise between removal rate and surface smoothness.
Before fitting the disc, make sure that the sander's backing pad is clean and free from remnants of the previous disc. Hook-and-loop attachment requires the entire disc surface to be pressed firmly onto the pad. Do not apply excessive pressure during work – the weight of the sander is usually enough for effective sanding.
Paper discs lose their effectiveness as the abrasive grain wears down. Signs that a disc needs replacing include reduced sanding performance, excessive heating of the surface or visible damage to the paper. Perforated discs require regular cleaning of the sander's dust extraction system in order to maintain effective dust extraction.
Store discs in a dry place, away from sources of moisture. Moisture weakens the paper backing and can cause premature disc failure during work. Store unused discs in the original packaging.
