Sandpaper roll 93 mm wide and 5 metres long, with a grit of 40. Designed for coarse sanding of wood, plaster and filler, and for removing old paint and lacquer coatings.
A grit of 40 means a coarse abrasive grain that quickly removes larger amounts of material. It is used for levelling out uneven surfaces, removing old coatings and initial shaping before further sanding.
The 93 mm width makes it easy to cut sheets for hand sanders and sanding blocks. The 5-metre length allows repeated use and lets you cut the size to suit the task.
The paper is suitable for sanding hard and soft wood, plaster, building filler and coats of paint and lacquer. It prepares a range of surfaces before painting or finishing.
YATO specialises in tools and consumables for professionals and workshop users. The YT-8449 is part of a broad range of abrasive materials.

P40 grit belongs to the coarse sandpaper group. After using it, move on to P60–P80 and then P120–P180 to achieve a smooth surface. Never skip the intermediate stages, as deep scratches left by coarse grain can remain visible under the finish.
Cut the sandpaper into sheets of the required size using scissors or a knife. For hand sanding, use a sanding block, which applies even pressure and protects your hands. Worn paper loses its cutting edge – this shows as increased resistance while sanding and a higher surface temperature. Replace the paper when it no longer removes material effectively.
Store the sandpaper roll in a dry place, protected from moisture. Contact with water softens the paper backing and causes the grain to lose its adhesion. The unused part of the roll should be kept rolled up and protected from accidental damage.
