Professional screwdriver bits made from S2 steel with a 1/4 inch hex shank, designed for use with TORX T15 screws. The set contains 2 bits measuring 25 mm in length, with a nickel-plated surface that provides protection against corrosion.
Technical Characteristics of the TORX T15 Bits
S2 Alloy Steel with 58-60 HRC Hardness
S2 is a tool steel containing chromium and molybdenum, characterised by increased resistance to impact and torsion. A hardness of 58-60 HRC represents the optimum balance between hardness and resistance to breakage – the bit does not deform under load and at the same time does not shatter under greater torsional forces.
TORX T15 Tip with a Precision Profile
The TORX system (six-pointed star) distributes force better than conventional cross-head screws, reducing wear on both the bit and the screw. Size T15 corresponds to a nominal inscribed diameter of approximately 3.27 mm and is widely used in electronics, automotive applications and furniture assembly. The precision-formed tip minimises play and slippage.
1/4 Inch (6.3 mm) Hex Shank
The standard 1/4" hex shank ensures compatibility with cordless and corded drill/drivers, magnetic bit holders and hand drivers. The hexagonal shape eliminates rotation of the bit in the holder during use, which increases precision and user safety.
Nickel-Plated Surface Finish
A layer of nickel several micrometres thick forms a protective barrier against corrosion and oxidation. Nickel plating also increases surface hardness and reduces the coefficient of friction, which makes it easier to insert and remove the bit from the screw recess. Checking Compatibility

TORX bits are not compatible with Torx Plus screws (marked IP), because the two profiles differ in shape.
Maintenance and Use
S2 steel bits require minimal maintenance. After working in a damp environment or contact with chemicals, it is advisable to wipe the bit with a dry cloth. During intensive use, it is worth checking the condition of the tip periodically – rounded or damaged edges can cause slippage and damage to screws.
The 25 mm length classifies these bits as standard working bits. They provide sufficient access in most applications while maintaining stability during use. For work in deep recesses or hard-to-reach places, a bit extension or long bits (50-100 mm) can be used.
When tightening TORX screws, it is advisable to set the drill/driver to the appropriate torque – excessive force can damage the thread or the screw head. The TORX system can transmit higher torques than cross-head screws, but it requires the axis to be kept perpendicular to the screw surface.
