A hammer drill bit with an SDS Max shank, intended for heavy-duty drilling in structural concrete and reinforced concrete. The four-cutter cutting head enables effective drilling even where steel reinforcement is encountered, while keeping the bit steady in the hole.
The four-cutter configuration ensures precise centring of the bit at the start of drilling and even crushing of the material during work. The symmetrical distribution of the cutting forces limits lateral deflection of the bit and reduces the level of vibration transmitted to the machine and the operator.
The SDS Max fitting system has three locking grooves and two drive grooves, which allows the bit to move freely along its axis during impact while remaining securely seated in the chuck. This design is used in hammers of a higher impact energy class (above approx. 8 J), typical of heavy demolition and drilling work.
The geometry of the cutters and the material of the cutting insert are selected for working in conditions where steel reinforcement is encountered. The bit maintains its drilling effectiveness when it hits reinforcing bars, which removes the need to stop work and change tools.
The spiral flute of the bit carries the crushed material from the bottom of the hole towards the opening. Efficient debris removal prevents the hole from clogging, keeps drilling performance from dropping and stops the cutting tip from overheating.

A drill bit with an SDS Max shank works only with rotary hammers fitted with an SDS Max chuck. Before buying, check the shank type in the technical documentation of your machine. SDS Max should not be confused with SDS Plus — the two systems are not compatible with each other.
