Spiral-flute drill bit with an SDS Max shank, designed for drilling into concrete, granite, brickwork and other stone materials. The double flute ensures efficient debris removal, shortening the time needed to drill deep holes.
A fitting system used on rotary hammers above 5 kg. The 18 mm shank diameter ensures stable guidance of the drill bit and the transmission of high torque when drilling holes of 16 mm diameter and above.
The design with two spiral flutes increases the surface area for debris removal. This allows dust to be cleared from the hole more quickly, which shortens drilling time and reduces the thermal load on the drill bit, particularly at greater depths.
The cutting edge is made of tungsten carbide, which is considerably harder than steel. This material retains its sharpness even when drilling hard concrete or granite, extending the life of the tool.
An overall length of 600 mm allows deep holes to be drilled in thick walls and foundations. Useful for services running through multi-layer building partitions.

The drill bit requires a rotary hammer with an SDS Max shank. It will not fit the common SDS Plus rotary hammers (smaller, 10 mm). Before purchasing, check the shank type in the power tool's manual – SDS Max rotary hammers are usually machines weighing over 5 kg, designed for demolition work and drilling large holes.
When drilling, water cooling is recommended for prolonged work – this limits overheating of the carbide tip and extends its service life. After each use, clean the spiral flutes of accumulated concrete dust.
The drill bit operates with hammer action – do not apply excessive pressure, which can damage the cutting edge or cause the bit to jam in the material. Optimum results are achieved at medium speeds with regular withdrawal of the drill bit to clear debris from the hole.
It is worth lightly greasing the SDS Max shank with silicone grease before fitting – this makes tool changes easier and protects the chuck mechanism from wear.
