SDS Plus Premium Drill Bit 14 mm/460 mm YT-41955 Yato

A hammer drill bit with an SDS Plus shank, designed for drilling into concrete and reinforced concrete. The four-cutter tungsten carbide tip and deep flute design ensure effective dust removal during intensive drilling work.

Overall length460 mm
Shank typeSDS+
Suitable materialsReinforced concrete, concrete

Technical features of the SDS Plus drill bit

Four-cutter tungsten carbide tip with additional edges

The four-edge cutting tip geometry makes it possible to drill through reinforcing bars in reinforced concrete. The additional edges increase tip durability and reduce the risk of the carbide chipping on contact with steel reinforcement.

Precision-ground working surface

Precision grinding of the bit's surface reduces friction during use. Lower resistance translates into faster drilling and less heat build-up in the tool, which extends its service life.

Deep helix with four flutes

The four-flute helix design ensures effective removal of concrete dust and debris from the hole. The deep helix reduces the risk of the bit jamming, especially when drilling deep holes.

Automated carbide brazing process

The automated brazing method produces a joint with high resistance to working temperatures. The process eliminates the risk of the tip coming off during intensive use in hard materials.

Applications of the 14 mm concrete drill bit

  • Drilling fixing holes in concrete walls and ceilings
  • Preparing holes for 14 mm wall plugs and chemical anchors
  • Electrical and plumbing installations in concrete structures
  • Installation of ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • Fitting windows and doors in reinforced concrete buildings
  • Drilling into reinforced concrete containing steel bars
  • Preparing holes for brackets and supports in load-bearing walls
  • Refurbishment and modernisation work in industrial facilities

Tool compatibility

The SDS Plus chuck is a standard fitting on light and medium-duty hammer drills. Before buying, check that your drill has an SDS+ chuck (identified by the characteristic four grooves and two slots). The SDS Plus system is not compatible with keyless chucks or with the SDS Max system used on heavier demolition hammers.

Maintenance and use of the hammer drill bit

The shank of the SDS Plus bit should be cleaned regularly to remove concrete dust and greased with a dedicated SDS shank grease. A dirty chuck sleeve causes incorrect operation of the hammer mechanism and accelerated wear of both the bit and the drill itself.

When drilling into reinforced concrete, hammer drilling mode should be used. Contact with reinforcing bars requires the hammer action to be switched off briefly so that the tip is not damaged. A 14 mm bit requires a drill with an output of at least 700-800 W for effective work in concrete of grade C20/25 and above.

Maintaining the correct hole diameter is particularly important when fitting wall plugs. A worn bit produces holes of a larger diameter, which reduces the load-bearing capacity of the plug fixing. The bit should be replaced once its working diameter exceeds the nominal diameter beyond the +0.5 mm tolerance.

Working length of the bit

With an overall length of 460 mm, the working length (the cutting section excluding the shank) is approximately 400 mm. This parameter determines the maximum drilling depth through a wall or ceiling. When planning work, allow for the length of the SDS Plus shank (approximately 60 mm), which does not take part in the drilling process.
