Single-Phase Petrol Generator KD631 — Kraft&Dele 1.5/2 kW
The KD631 is a portable single-phase petrol generator from Kraft&Dele, generating 230 V AC power by means of a four-stroke OHV petrol engine. The unit is built on an open frame, which translates into reduced weight and compact dimensions while retaining full functionality.
Technical features
4-stroke OHV engine with chrome-plated piston
An OHV (overhead valve) valvetrain fills the cylinder with the fuel-air mixture more effectively than older side-valve designs, which translates into lower fuel consumption and smoother running. The chrome-plated piston reduces friction and extends the service life of the engine.
Open frame design
An open frame instead of a closed casing reduces the weight and volume of the generator by around 20% compared with enclosed designs. This makes the unit easier to transport and store, while also ensuring a free flow of cooling air around the engine.
Rubber stabilisers and engine mounts
Anti-vibration mounts fitted between the engine and the frame absorb the vibrations generated during operation. This reduces both the noise transmitted to the ground and the fatigue stress on the mechanical joints, which extends the service life of the unit.
Low oil level sensor
The sensor automatically shuts down the engine as soon as the oil level drops below the safe minimum. This protects the engine from damage caused by running without lubrication — one of the most common causes of generator failure.

Choosing the right power output — what to look out for
A rated output of 1.5 kW is the load at which the generator can run continuously. The maximum output of 2 kW is available only briefly — for example when starting electric motors, which draw several times more current than during normal operation. Before connecting appliances, add up their power draw and make sure it does not exceed 1.5 kW in continuous operation.
Use and maintenance
The generator requires unleaded petrol 95 or 98. Use CD-grade oil or a multi-season 10W-30 or 15W-40 oil in the engine — the viscosity you choose depends on the ambient temperature during operation. The engine oil should be checked before every start-up and changed according to the schedule given in the instruction manual.
A noise level of 66 dBA measured at a distance of 5 metres corresponds to a volume slightly higher than normal conversation. For comparison, a domestic vacuum cleaner generates around 70–80 dBA. This figure is achievable with the correct oil level and a fully functional vibration damping system.
The kit includes a spark plug spanner and a screwdriver, which allows basic servicing tasks (spark plug replacement, checking connections) to be carried out without any additional tools. The supplied leads allow 12 V batteries to be charged.
