An auto-ranging multimeter with Smart function for measuring voltage, resistance and circuit continuity. The YATO YT-730822 automatically detects the type of measurement and selects the range, which removes the need to configure the instrument manually before every measurement.
The Smart function removes the need to set the measuring range manually. The multimeter identifies the type of signal connected on its own and selects the appropriate range, which shortens measurement time and guards against incorrect dial settings.
TRUE RMS (Root Mean Square) technology provides accurate measurement of the true RMS value of AC voltage and current, even with distorted waveforms. Standard averaging (AVG) meters can show errors of up to 40% when measuring non-sinusoidal signals, which matters when diagnosing modern electronic devices with switch-mode power supplies.
The NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) function detects the presence of AC voltage without the test probes having to touch the conductors. This allows a preliminary check of whether a circuit is live before carrying out a contact measurement, which improves safety at work.

The multimeter operates over a range of 40-1000Hz, which covers the standard 50Hz mains frequency as well as the higher harmonics found in modern switch-mode power supplies. This allows accurate voltage measurement in installations with inverters, LED drivers or motor controllers.
The continuity test function with audible signal activates at a resistance below 50 Ω. It allows quick checking of cables, PCB traces or soldered joints without having to look at the display – the audible signal confirming continuity is enough.
The diode test mode uses a test current of 5µA and a voltage of 2.0V, which allows the voltage drop across a PN junction to be checked without any risk of damaging the component. A useful function when checking rectifier, Zener or LED diodes.
The multimeter switches off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity, which extends the life of the AAA batteries. A particularly useful function in workshop conditions, where the instrument may accidentally be left switched on.
The total length of the test lead with probes is 93 cm, which gives freedom of movement when taking measurements in distribution boards, under a vehicle bonnet or in hard-to-reach places. Probes 13.5 cm long make it possible to reach terminals in densely packed circuits.
