A soft-start module that protects power tools from excessive inrush current during motor start-up. It limits the start-up surge and protects the electrical installation from overload.
The module reduces the current surge when the motor is switched on, which prevents the protective devices in the electrical installation from being overloaded and extends the service life of power tools through smooth start-up.
The module operates at 250V AC with a load of up to 16A, or at 125V AC with a load of up to 25A. These values determine the maximum power draw of the connected tool.
Dimensions of 52 × 35 × 15 mm allow the module to be fitted inside the housing of most power tools without the need to modify the tool.
Three colour-coded wires: blue (neutral supply, N), red (live supply, L) and black (motor output – live). The diagram eliminates the risk of incorrect installation.
| Model | G85231 (XS-16/Da circuit) |
| Load rating | 16A / 250V AC or 25A / 125V AC |
| Circuit type | 5E4 |
| Dimensions | 52 × 35 × 15 mm |
| N supply connection | Blue wire |
| L supply connection | Red wire |
| Motor output | Black wire (live) |
| Intended use | 230V angle grinders and other power tools |
Connect the blue wire to the neutral (N) supply, the red wire to the live (L) supply and the black wire to the live motor input. Connect the motor's neutral wire directly to the neutral supply, bypassing the module.
The module must be installed in the motor's supply circuit, in a location protected from vibration and high temperatures. Before installation, check that the load parameters (tool power) are within the 16A limit at 230V (approximately 3680W).
The module requires no maintenance. If a power tool malfunctions after the module has been fitted, check that the connections are correct and that the wires are in good condition. Excessive heating of the module may indicate that the permissible load has been exceeded.
Before purchase, check the tool's supply voltage (230V) and power draw. Divide the power in watts by the voltage (230V) – the result must not exceed 16A. Example: a 3000W tool / 230V = 13A (compatible).
