Compressed air system requirements
Choosing a compressor and accessories
The grinder requires a compressor with an output of at least 200 l/min and a working pressure of 8–10 bar (allowing for pressure drops in the system). An air filter with a water separator and a lubricator to oil the tool are recommended. The hose should have an internal diameter of at least 8 mm and should not exceed 10 metres in length, to avoid pressure drops. A 1/4" quick-release coupling allows tools to be changed quickly in a workshop air system.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, add a few drops of pneumatic oil to the air inlet. Repeat this every 2–3 hours of intensive work or at the start of each working day. After use, blow the tool through with compressed air to remove dust and moisture.
When changing burrs or mounted points, disconnect the air supply and make sure the spindle has come to a complete stop. The shanks of cutting tools should be inserted to a depth of at least 10 mm to ensure a secure hold during operation.
Regular checks include inspecting the spindle bearings (excessive vibration or noise indicates wear), the tightness of the air connections and the condition of the spindle seal. Replacing worn parts extends the life of the tool and ensures safe operation.
