The KD1170 is a portable, submersible self-priming pump powered by 12V DC and designed for transferring light technical fluids. Powered from a car battery, it can operate without access to the mains — in a workshop, garage or on site.
Technical features
12V DC power — operation without mains
The 12V voltage allows the pump to be connected directly to a car battery using crocodile clips. It can operate alongside the vehicle, in locations with no electrical infrastructure — for example during an oil change at the roadside or on a construction site.
Submersible design — cooled by the pumped fluid
The electric motor is cooled by the fluid being pumped, which eliminates the need for a separate cooling system. This design prevents overheating during longer operation and is typical of pumps intended for thicker technical fluids.
Self-priming — fast start-up
The pump does not require the hoses to be primed by hand before start-up. Simply immerse it in the fluid and connect the power supply. This shortens the preparation time and simplifies operation when the device is frequently moved between tanks.
Compact housing — mobility
Its small size and low weight make it easy to transport and store. The pump is suitable both for permanent installation in a workshop and for occasional use on site or in a home garage.

Application limits
Unsuitable fluids
The KD1170 pump is not designed to handle flammable low-flashpoint fluids — in particular petrol, LPG, ethanol and other organic solvents. Using it with such fluids creates a risk of fire or explosion. Before use, check that the fluid to be pumped falls within the range of approved pumped fluids specified by the manufacturer.
Operation and maintenance
Before the first start-up, check that the connections on the suction and discharge hoses are leak-tight. Immerse the pump in the fluid before connecting the power supply — dry running can damage the motor, as cooling is provided solely by the pumped fluid.
After use, it is advisable to flush the pump through with clean oil or to dry it thoroughly if the device is to be stored for a longer period. This prevents residues of fluid from settling and corrosion of internal components.
Power supply polarity
When connecting to a car battery, ensure the polarity is correct. Reversed connection can permanently damage the electric motor. Before start-up, check that the crocodile clips are connected to the correct battery terminals.
