A 120-piece assortment of sealing washers for engine oil sump plugs, supplied in a compartmented case. It contains washers made from six different materials, ensuring compatibility with most cars, vans and motorcycles on the market.
The assortment contains washers made from aluminium, metal, rubber, nylon, fibre and copper. Each material has its own specific properties: aluminium and copper provide malleability and resistance to high temperatures, rubber and nylon offer flexibility, and fibre performs well under higher pressures. The range of materials lets you match the right washer to the design of the sump and the type of plug.
The washers are kept in a compartmented case that makes it easy to identify the size and material. The compartments stop the pieces from mixing, which shortens the time needed to find the right washer during an oil change. The case also protects the washers from contamination and mechanical damage.
The 120 pieces cover the most common sizes and types of washer used in cars, vans and motorcycles of various makes. This removes the need to order individual washers for a specific vehicle model and allows an immediate replacement during servicing.
The assortment is designed for replacing worn or damaged sealing washers on oil sump plugs. A correct seal prevents oil leaks, which can lead to a drop in fluid level and engine damage. Regular replacement of the washer at every oil change is recommended by vehicle manufacturers.

Sealing washers deform when the sump plug is tightened, which is a normal and intended effect – this is what makes the joint leak-tight. Once the plug is undone, the washer loses its elastic properties and should not be reused. Using the same washer repeatedly leads to leaks, oil loss and potential damage to the thread in the sump.
Choosing the right washer depends on the design of the sump plug and the material of the sump. Aluminium and copper washers are used with tapered-thread plugs, where the material needs to be malleable. Rubber and nylon washers work well with plugs that have a flat sealing surface. Fibre washers are used in older engine designs.
Before buying, check the dimensions and type of the recommended washer in the vehicle's technical documentation or directly on the sump plug. The inner diameter of the washer must match the thread diameter of the plug, and the outer diameter must match the sealing surface in the sump. The thickness of the washer affects the tightening torque of the plug.
Store the washers in a dry place, away from oils and solvents that can affect the properties of some materials, particularly rubber and nylon. The case should be kept closed to protect the contents from contamination. Metal washers do not have a limited shelf life, whereas rubber and nylon pieces can lose their flexibility over time – they are best replaced after 3–5 years of storage.
