GEKO G70576 Protective Tarpaulin 12×18 m
A multi-purpose protective tarpaulin with a three-layer construction and reinforced edges. Its 216 m² surface area provides universal protection for building materials, timber, machinery and other items against the weather.
Technical characteristics
Three-layer construction
A woven polypropylene (PP) core coated on both sides with polyethylene (PE). This design combines mechanical strength with flexibility and tear resistance. The PE layer prevents water penetration.
Weight 120 g/m²
A parameter defining the density of the material. A value of 120 g/m² indicates a reinforced construction suitable for long-term outdoor protection. It provides resistance to mechanical damage while retaining flexibility.
Reinforced rope hems
The edges are reinforced with a polyethylene cord sewn into the hem. This protects the material from tearing at the points of greatest stress during stretching and securing.
Aluminium eyelets every 1 m
Metal eyelets set at regular intervals along all edges. They allow secure fastening with ropes, hooks or bungee cords. Aluminium does not rust during use in damp conditions.

Performance properties
Water resistance
The polyethylene coating prevents water from penetrating the material. The tarpaulin protects against rain and snow, but it is not designed to collect water – it must be laid with a slope to allow water to run off.
Mould resistance
Synthetic materials (PP and PE) do not provide a substrate for the growth of micro-organisms. The tarpaulin can be used in damp conditions without the risk of mould growth, but it requires periodic cleaning to remove organic contamination.
Ease of maintenance
The smooth surface makes it possible to remove dirt with water and cleaning agents. After washing, leave to dry before folding. Regular cleaning extends the service life.
Securing the tarpaulin
Eyelets spaced every 1 m allow various fastening methods depending on the application. When securing stacks of materials, it is advisable to use ropes or bungee cords threaded through opposite eyelets. For fixing to structures, hooks or karabiners can be used.
With large surface areas, it is worth providing additional anchor points in the middle section to prevent water from collecting. The material should be taut, but without excessive tension that could damage the eyelets.
