A manual tile cutter for ceramic and glazed tiles with a guide-rail cutting system. Designed for straight and mitre cuts in large-format tiles — for both renovation and finishing work at a professional level. The tool needs neither a power supply nor water.
The base is made from thick steel plate, which keeps the frame rigid during cutting. The technical micro-rubber lining stops the tool from sliding across the surface and damps vibration, which in turn improves the precision of the scoring action.
The cutting assembly runs on two parallel guide rails, which prevents the scoring wheel from drifting sideways. A twin-rail design resists twisting better than single-rail constructions, particularly when cutting large-format tiles.
The 16 mm cutting wheel is made from specially hardened tungsten carbide — a material far harder than ceramic. This gives the wheel a long service life in regular use and produces a clean score in the glaze without chipping the edges.
The square mounted on the base lets you set the tile at any angle to the cutting line. This makes mitre cuts possible — for example when finishing corners, borders or fitting tiles around irregular room shapes.

A cutting length of 1000 mm covers the largest standard tile formats available in retail (e.g. 60×120 cm when cut lengthways). Before buying, check that the dimensions of the tiles you intend to cut fall within the tool's working range — both in terms of length and width (max. 175 mm). Manual cutters work well on ceramic and glazed tiles; for hard, vitrified porcelain you may need an electric cutter with a diamond blade.
After every use, clean ceramic dust from the guide rails and the slide rail, as it accelerates wear on the sliding mechanism. The guide rails should be oiled periodically with a thin film of machine oil, which keeps the cutting assembly moving smoothly. The scoring wheel is a wear part — if the quality of the score deteriorates (snagging, an uneven line), replace it with a new wheel of the same diameter (16 mm). Store the tool in a dry place and protect the guide rails from corrosion.
