A ratchet torque wrench designed for the controlled tightening of fasteners to a precisely defined torque. The tool features an audible signal when the set value is reached and a lock that prevents accidental changes to the setting.
The torque range covers the typical requirements for assembling components on cars, motorcycles and industrial equipment. 42 Nm is sufficient for tightening smaller bolts in the suspension, while 210 Nm allows work on wheel bolts and engine components. The required torque should always be checked in the technical documentation for the vehicle or equipment.
When the set torque is reached, the mechanism emits a clear audible signal and a noticeable impulse through the handle. This prevents over-tightening of fasteners, which could damage threads, shear bolts or deform components. The ratchet mechanism requires periodic calibration in line with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Chrome vanadium steel (CrV) offers increased hardness and resistance to mechanical wear. The addition of vanadium increases resistance to dynamic loads, which matters when the wrench is used repeatedly. Chrome plating protects against corrosion in workshop conditions.
GS certification (Geprüfte Sicherheit) confirms that the tool complies with the safety standards applied in Europe. The locking ring on the handle prevents accidental changes to the set torque during use, which matters when carrying out a series of tightening operations at the same value.

The 1/2" drive is the standard size in professional socket sets. The wrench works with impact and standard sockets from 10 mm to 32 mm, as well as with extensions and universal joints. When selecting sockets, check that their length does not affect the accuracy of the torque measurement.
Before starting work, set the required torque by turning the lower part of the handle and reading the value on the scale. Once set, lock the mechanism with the locking ring. A torque wrench requires even pressure along the axis of the tool – applying force at an angle or jerking can affect measurement accuracy.
When you have finished, it is advisable to set the wrench to its lowest torque value to relieve the internal spring. Store the tool in a dry place, ideally in its dedicated case. Periodic calibration by an authorised laboratory maintains the stated measurement accuracy. A typical calibration interval is 12 months or after approximately 5,000 operating cycles.
In critical applications such as fitting vehicle wheels, it is advisable to verify the torque by rechecking it after the first 50-100 km. Bolts may settle slightly, which requires checking and re-tightening with the torque wrench where necessary.
