Click-type ratchet mechanism
Once the set torque is reached, the torque mechanism releases with a click, producing a clear audible and tactile signal. This eliminates the risk of exceeding the permissible tightening torque, which is particularly important for fasteners with a manufacturer-specified limit.
Engraved scale on the handle
The torque scale is permanently engraved on the handle, which keeps it legible throughout the life of the tool. The setting is adjusted by turning the handle, and once the required value is set it is locked with a locking ring at the end of the grip — this prevents accidental changes to the setting during use.
Direction switch
The built-in switch allows work in both the tightening (clockwise) and undoing (anticlockwise) directions. Changing direction does not require removing the tool from the fastener, which shortens assembly and dismantling times.
1/4" drive and 1–25 Nm range
A 1/4" drive is the standard for small and medium fasteners — typically M4–M8 bolts. The 1–25 Nm range covers, among other things, the tightening of glow plugs, vehicle electronic components, sensors, housings and light chassis components. How to choose the torque range of a torque wrench
The required tightening torque is given in the service manual of the vehicle or device. A torque wrench should be used in the middle part of its range — for the KD11390 (1–25 Nm), the optimum working range is approximately 5–20 Nm. Working near the lower or upper limits of the scale can reduce accuracy. A 1/4" drive requires sockets and attachments in the same size.
Use and maintenance
After use, release the locking ring and set the scale to the lowest value in the range (1 Nm). Storing the wrench with the mechanism spring unloaded extends the life of the torque system and helps maintain setting accuracy. The wrench should be stored in the supplied protective case, away from moisture and corrosive substances.
