Difference between Torx and Torx Security
The standard Torx profile has a six-pointed star shape without a centre hole. Torx Security has an additional pin in the centre of the screw recess, which requires a screwdriver with a matching hole in the tip. This system is used where the manufacturer wants to restrict the end user's ability to dismantle the device themselves.
