Euro profile cylinder lock measuring 30/50 mm, designed for mortice locks in internal and external doors. Aluminium body with a brass mechanism. Supplied with 3 keys and a fixing screw.
Aluminium keeps the weight down while maintaining mechanical strength. The body does not corrode under normal use, which matters particularly on external doors exposed to moisture.
Brass has a low coefficient of friction and good wear resistance, which translates into smooth key operation and a long service life even under intensive use.
This figure refers to the number of complete rotations of the mechanism it is rated to complete while remaining fully operational. Assuming 10 openings a day, this equates to more than 13 years of use.
A brushed surface is less prone to visible scratches than a polished finish. The brass colour complements both traditional and contemporary door joinery and ironmongery in the same tone.
The 30/50 dimension is the distance from the centre of the fixing screw to the outer edge of the cylinder: 30 mm on the internal side and 50 mm on the external side. Before replacing a cylinder, unscrew the existing one and measure both sections with a vernier caliper or a ruler. The sum of the two figures (80 mm here) is the overall length of the cylinder.

The cylinder is fitted with the supplied fixing screw, driven in from the face of the lock through the hole in the door leaf. Before fitting, check that the cylinder dimensions match the opening in the lock and that the cylinder type (standard European profile) is compatible with your lock.
To keep the mechanism working smoothly, the cylinder should be lubricated periodically with a lock lubricant (graphite or PTFE). Avoid mineral oil-based products, which can attract dirt and cause the mechanism to jam.
