A long-series drill bit made from HSS M2 high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, to DIN 340. Designed for drilling through and blind holes in metals, including difficult-to-machine materials.
A molybdenum alloy with a hardness of 63–65 HRC. It contains approx. 6% tungsten and 5% molybdenum, which provides wear resistance and keeps the cutting edge sharp during intensive work.
A black and gold ceramic layer that increases surface hardness to approx. 2400 HV. It reduces the coefficient of friction by 30–40%, which lowers the cutting temperature and extends the life of the drill bit by up to 3 times compared with an uncoated version.
A two-stage point ground at 135° self-centres on start-up, with no need for a centre punch. It reduces the axial force required to start drilling, which is particularly important in thin sheet.
A working length of 82 mm and an overall length of 126 mm make it possible to drill deep holes in hard-to-reach areas. The ground flute clears swarf effectively along the full length of the hole, preventing it from jamming.

For structural steel (600 N/mm²): cutting speed 20–25 m/min, feed 0.08–0.12 mm/rev. For stainless steel: reduce the speed by 30–40% and use emulsion or oil cooling. Avoid overheating the TiN coating above 600°C.
When drilling stainless steel and difficult-to-machine materials, use flood cooling. For carbon steels, dry drilling is acceptable at speeds reduced by 20%. For holes deeper than 3xD, internal cooling or frequent withdrawal of the drill bit is recommended.
Store in a dry place and protect the cutting edges from mechanical damage. The TiN coating requires no additional corrosion protection, but contact with aggressive chemicals should be avoided.
