Understanding the 4.00-6 size marking
The first number (4.00) gives the tyre width in inches and the second (6) is the rim diameter in inches. This size corresponds to tyres with an outer diameter of 320 mm and a width of 90 mm, as used on compact transport equipment.
2PR construction (2-ply)
The PR (Ply Rating) marking indicates the strength of the tyre carcass. 2PR construction has 2 layers of cord, giving a load capacity of up to 136 kg at the appropriate pressure. It is used in applications with moderate strength requirements.

Checking compatibility
Before buying, check the rim dimensions: the inner diameter of the tyre (170 mm) must match the rim diameter on your equipment. Also check the rim width – it should be around 60-75 mm for a tyre 90 mm wide. Make sure the tyre's load capacity (136 kg) is sufficient for the weight of the equipment plus its load.
Use and maintenance
Tyre pressure should be kept between 1.8 and 2.1 bar depending on the load. Lower pressures are used when working on soft ground and higher pressures for transport on hard surfaces. Checking the pressure regularly every 2-3 weeks prevents uneven tread wear.
Before fitting, check the condition of the rim – remove any rust, sharp edges and dirt that could damage the inner tube. When fitting the tube, it is worth using talcum powder, which makes it easier to seat the tube inside the tyre and reduces friction.
Pneumatic tyres should be stored in a dry place, away from sources of ozone (electric motors, welding equipment) and out of direct sunlight. Leaving equipment standing for long periods can deform the tyre – it is advisable to turn the wheels periodically or take the weight off by lifting the equipment.
