Universal 125mm P60 Grinding Disc YATO YT-83264

A universal grinding disc designed for working on metal, concrete, ceramics and porcelain tiles. The 125mm diameter makes it compatible with standard angle grinders, while the P60 grit allows efficient material removal with full control over the grinding process.

Features of the Universal Grinding Disc

P60 Grit – Applications

A P60 grit offers a medium level of cutting aggression. This value defines the size of the abrasive grains: the lower the number, the coarser the grain and the faster the material removal. P60 is ideal for removing rust and old coatings and for the initial levelling of surfaces before finishing work.

125mm Diameter – Compatibility

The standard 125mm diameter fits popular angle grinders with an M14 spindle thread. Before buying, check the diameter of the mounting hole in the disc and the type of mounting on your grinder. Most DIY and professional machines take this size.

Material Versatility

The construction of the disc allows it to be used on a range of materials, from structural steel through concrete to building ceramics. It removes the need to change tools when moving between different types of surface during a renovation or construction project.

Plastic Backing

The backing is made from reinforced plastic, which provides flexibility during use and reduces the risk of cracking under sideways pressure. The material is resistant to moisture and chemicals, which extends the service life of the disc in workshop conditions.

Applications of the 125mm Grinding Disc

  • Removing rust from steel and iron components before painting or welding
  • Stripping old paint and lacquer coatings from metal surfaces
  • Levelling uneven concrete surfaces before laying floor coverings
  • Grinding the edges of ceramic and porcelain tiles after cutting
  • Chamfering edges at 45° on steel and concrete components
  • Preparing steel surfaces for welding by cleaning the joint area
  • Removing runs and excess mortar from ceramic surfaces
  • Initial surface preparation before applying protective coatings

Use and Maintenance

Choosing the Right Operating Parameters

A P60 grit requires the grinder speed to be matched to the hardness of the material being worked. For steel, 8,000–10,000 rpm is recommended; for concrete and ceramics, 6,000–8,000 rpm. Speeds that are too high can overheat the disc and shorten its service life.

Safety When Grinding

Personal protective equipment is essential when working with a grinding disc: safety glasses, work gloves, hearing protection and a dust mask. Make sure the work area is properly ventilated, especially when grinding concrete and ceramics, which generate a large amount of dust.

Checking the Condition of the Disc

Visually inspect the disc before every use for cracks, damaged edges or uneven wear. A damaged disc can break apart during high-speed operation. The disc needs replacing when the abrasive grains are completely worn or when the diameter has decreased by more than 10mm.
