The YATO YT-439365 universal drill bit, 14 mm in diameter and 200 mm long, is designed for drilling into a wide range of construction and workshop materials — from granite and reinforced concrete to metal, ceramics and plastics. Its special tip geometry allows it to be used both with and without hammer action, which removes the need to change tools when moving between different materials.
The shape of the cutting edges is designed to bite effectively into hard mineral materials (granite, concrete) as well as metals and plastics. The correct rake angle reduces the force needed for drilling and lowers heat build-up in the bit.
The bit is suitable for hammer drills as well as standard corded and cordless drills. Hammer action is used for concrete and stone, while the non-hammer mode is for ceramics, metal and plastics, where hammering could cause cracking or surface damage.
The design of the shank and the debris-clearing flutes keeps the bit accurately on course in the material. This reduces lateral runout, a common cause of holes being drilled wider than intended and of premature bit wear.
The tip geometry minimises stress in the drilling zone, which matters particularly with ceramics and tiles — materials prone to radial cracking. The bit enters the material gradually, without sudden impacts that concentrate stress.

When drilling into concrete, reinforced concrete and granite, the hammer function on the drill should be switched on — this speeds up the work and reduces wear on the cutting edges. For ceramics, metal and plastics the hammer action should be switched off: with ceramics this prevents the tiles from cracking, and with metal and plastics it produces a clean, round hole with no burred edges. A 14 mm diameter with a 200 mm length makes it possible to drill through masonry partitions and thicker structural elements, where shorter bits cannot reach the required depth.
