UPS 1000VA LED — Kraft&Dele KD1927

The KD1927 is an offline-class uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with an apparent power rating of 1000 VA and an active power rating of 600 W, fitted with an LED display showing the current operating status of the unit. It protects connected devices against the effects of power cuts, voltage surges and abnormal mains parameters.

Apparent power1000 VA
Active power600 W
Transfer time4–8 ms
Battery9 Ah × 1

Key features

4–8 ms transfer time

Transfer time determines how quickly the UPS switches from mains power to battery once a power cut is detected. A value of 4–8 ms is sufficient for desktop computers, cash registers and most electronic devices — ATX power supplies tolerate interruptions of up to approx. 20 ms without any loss of output voltage.

Simulated sine wave

In battery mode the unit generates a modified (simulated) sine wave. This waveform is suitable for computers, consumer audio-visual equipment and devices with switched-mode power supplies. It is not recommended for equipment requiring a pure sine wave, such as certain medical devices or electric motors with start capacitors.

Wide input voltage range

The UPS accepts an input voltage of 140–300 V AC. This allows the unit to operate in mains mode (without drawing on the battery) even when the voltage deviates considerably from the nominal 230 V, which extends battery life.

LED display and noise level

The built-in LED display indicates the operating status, battery charge level and power mode. A noise level below 40 dB means the unit can be installed in offices and workspaces without causing any significant acoustic nuisance.

How to match UPS power to your equipment

The total active power (W) of the connected devices must not exceed 600 W. For a desktop computer with a monitor this is usually 200–350 W, which means one or two workstations can be connected. Apparent power (VA) relates to reactive loads — for devices with switched-mode power supplies the power factor is usually 0.6–0.7, hence the 1000 VA / 600 W ratio in this model.

Applications

The KD1927 is designed to protect electronic and electrical equipment that is sensitive to power cuts or abnormal mains voltage parameters:

  • Desktop computers and workstations
  • Small and mid-range servers
  • Alarm systems and access control systems
  • Cash registers and payment terminals
  • Consumer audio-visual equipment (TVs, amplifiers, players)
  • Routers, switches and network devices
  • Basic-class medical devices (after verifying the manufacturer's requirements)
  • Industrial PLC controllers and HMI panels

Use and maintenance

Before first use, the battery should be charged for 4–6 hours so that it reaches full working capacity. The unit should be operated at 0–40°C with humidity not exceeding 90% (non-condensing). Avoid installing it in locations exposed to direct sunlight, excessive dust or vibration.

The lead-acid battery used in UPS units of this type needs replacing every 3–5 years, depending on usage intensity and environmental conditions. A sign of battery ageing is a marked reduction in backup time under the same load. Regular short discharge and recharge cycles (testing the UPS) help to maintain battery condition.
