GEKO G01478 Dual-Jaw Vernier Caliper

An analogue workshop vernier caliper with a 0-200 mm measuring range and vernier scale reading. Designed for precise measurement of external and internal dimensions and depths in workshop and industrial conditions.

Measuring range0 - 200 mm
Reading accuracy0.02 mm
Reading typeVernier
MaterialHardened steel

Technical features

Vernier scale reading system

The measured value is read by comparing the graduations on the vernier scale with those on the main scale. An accuracy of 0.02 mm (20 μm) enables precise measurement in most workshop applications. It requires the ability to read a vernier scale, but does not rely on batteries.

Dual-jaw design

Two sets of jaws allow both external measurements (46 mm jaws) and internal measurements (19 mm jaws) to be taken without changing tools. The 19 mm internal jaws enable the measurement of bores from approximately 20 mm in diameter.

Integrated depth gauge

The depth rod allows the depth of holes, grooves and recesses to be measured up to 200 mm. This function eliminates the need for a separate tool for this type of measurement.

Screw lock

The locking mechanism with a clamping screw secures the slider in the selected position, allowing dimensions to be transferred and the same value to be read repeatedly. It prevents accidental movement during measurement.

Applications

  • Measuring the external diameters of shafts, rods and cylindrical components
  • Checking the internal dimensions of bores and grooves
  • Measuring the thickness of sheet metal, plates and other flat materials
  • Checking the depth of holes, recesses and grooves
  • Dimensional inspection in metalworking on lathes and milling machines
  • Verifying the manufacturing tolerances of components in mechanical workshops
  • Measurements in carpentry and woodworking
  • Quality control in series production of components measuring up to 200 mm

Use and maintenance

Reading the vernier scale

The measurement is read in two steps: whole millimetres from the main scale (the point at which the 0 mark on the vernier passes the scale) and hundredths of a millimetre from the vernier (the vernier line that coincides with a line on the main scale). With an accuracy of 0.02 mm, each vernier graduation represents two hundredths of a millimetre.

Tool maintenance

After use, clean the measuring surfaces of dirt and swarf, then protect them with a thin film of protective oil. Store the caliper in the supplied case in a dry place. Avoid impacts and drops, which may distort the jaws or damage the scale.

Accuracy verification

The caliper's zero setting should be checked periodically — with the jaws fully closed, the 0 mark on the vernier should coincide with the 0 mark on the main scale. If there is any discrepancy, the tool must be adjusted or calibrated by a metrology service.
