Drain snake features
6 mm diameter — range of applications
The 6 mm diameter snake is designed for waste pipes with an internal diameter of 30-50 mm. It is suitable for washbasin traps, kitchen sinks and shower drains. This diameter provides flexibility while maintaining sufficient stiffness to penetrate blockages.
3 metre working length
A reach of 3 metres allows access to blockages in soil stacks and horizontal runs of pipework. Sufficient length to service typical domestic installations without the need to dismantle drainage components.
Galvanised spring steel wire
Electro-galvanising protects the steel against corrosion on contact with water and waste water. The spring construction provides flexibility when negotiating bends in the installation and resistance to twisting during use.
Plastic handle
The ergonomic handle allows the snake to be rotated while pressing it towards the blockage. The material is resistant to moisture and to the chemicals found in waste water.

Use and maintenance
How to use
The snake is fed into the pipe through the drain or after removing the trap. During use, turn the handle clockwise while pressing the snake towards the blockage. Once the blockage has been penetrated, withdraw the snake, clean it and reinsert it to remove any remaining debris thoroughly.
Checking compatibility
Before purchase, determine the internal diameter of the waste pipe. The 6 mm snake is suitable for standard domestic installations with 40-50 mm pipes. For smaller pipes (32 mm) or larger ones (75 mm and above), other snake diameters should be considered.
Tool maintenance
After each use, clean the snake thoroughly to remove debris and dry it. Periodic lubrication with technical grease is recommended to maintain the flexibility of the wire. Store in a dry place, avoiding prolonged contact with water.
Working safely
Protective gloves should be worn during use owing to contact with waste water and the risk of injury from the sharp end of the snake. Safety glasses are recommended when working on pipes under pressure. Avoid excessive pressure, which may damage the trap or the pipe.
